View Full Version : Terminator 2 - Ultimate Edition : Have I been ripped off?
I just bought this film on Tuesday (great with all the extra stuff)
But I never got the metal Box with it.
Now every where Else I go I see the metal Tin and I see the Metal Tin shown with the DVD on the TV advert and on all the Internet WEbsites.
Plus everyone I know who has bought the DVD has got the Tin.
But the store I got it from says NO! you don't get a Tin from us.
Yet it still costs the exact same price from that store.
That store being Our Price.
Our Price = £19.99 NO TIN!!!!
Whsmith = £19.99 TIN
Woolworths = £19.99 TIN
ASDA = £19.99 TIN
GAME = £19.99 TIN
And my stupid "I'll keep the recipt safe so you don't lose it" mother has lost the recipt!!!!!
And the attitude of the store owner was far from nice when I was in today!
No so good considering I buy all my music\dvd's in that store!
So am I being conned??? as I want my darn TIN!!!

Our Price are just about the most expensive shop on the high-street for DVDs, CDs etc. WHSmith and MVC are consistently cheaper, to name two.
You could try to get them to order you a copy with a tin, they shouldn't have any excuse for not being able to do that.

I wouldn't bother about the tin. It'll just end up gathering dust in a cupboard somewhere.

Let's face it. If you buy all your music and dvds in Our Price you're being conned every minute of every day. Why shop in the single most expensive shop in the UK?? I mean it just doesn't make any sense whatsoever with all the places on the net that sell the exact same stuff at half the price! CDs - 8.99 at cd-wow.com - DVDs - 8-15 quid everywhere, particularly in Oz. You're off your nut!

Don't go to Our Price again, Tesco's is brilliant, T2 19.99 here, with TIN, and generally alot of new titles are 16.99 when you expect them to be 19.99.

I cant believe all this fuss over a pointless wafer thin sheet of folded metal - its easier to dent than cardboard. Its better without it imo - its fiddly, the amaray easily falls out of the top or bottom, all it does is delay you getting to the DVD and also makes it wider to store away.
The only thing positive I can think is that it does look nice IF and ONLY if you store your DVDs facing out but for this to be practical you would only have a collection of under 10 DVDs or a stupid sized space devoted to storage.
The UK one is a full tin not the sleeve version in R1
It's the principle of the thing.
I paid the same price as all the other shops but I got a lesser product.

Why do they call it the UE when it ain't?
The Region 1 has branching of 3 different versions of the film so the UE claim in the UK is a lie.
Guess it's because of the extra stuff on the dvd.
Anyone viewed all 3000 Stills :nuts:

I actually managed to get the Kubrick boix set for £81 in Our Price - it was the cheapest I saw in the high street at £90 and then managed to get 10% student discount :D
well the reg1 version I got through had the silver sleeve and the region 2 had a very nice sepia blue cover of arnies half man half robot face which i thought looked quite nice too. Not too bothered about getting tins, they never stack right :)

They don't sell T2 with the tin at WHSmith in Lancaster, but they do in Preston. So I asked if they could send one up....they said 'yes', but only if I pay the postage...cheeky b***ards! So much for having a loyalty card!
Ofcourse you've been ripped off, you bought the region two version ;-)
Sorry for the previous comment :(
I'm sure its still pretty good :-)
