View Full Version : Quick interconnects question - MikeK Plz have a look
Im after a digital coaxil cable but dont wanna pay over the odds.
I just popped over to my local richers and they had one for £20 which I think is a bit of a rip off as Im convinced they dont make much difference.
I remember a forum sponser posting some exclusive bargains for forum members inc cheap coaxil interconnects but I cant find the page or link.
Anyone know the link or the next cheapest place?!?
Max Ill pay is about a £10 inc del for 2m
cheers
dom
Oh and while Im here, wheres the cheapest place to get qed silver aniversary? Richers had it for £5 for 1 m - that a good deal??
ok, ive found out it was beyond hifi but I cant find the forum deals on coaxil cables - anyone wanna enlighten me?
Digital coax leads by the very definition of what they do means that the difference between a good and bad one is simply that a bad one will not work properly (ie you may get break up of signal bitstream).
The differences of sonic quality demonstrated by cheap and not so cheap speaker cable for example is not a consideration in digital stream carrying connections, you either get the 1s and 0s or you don't.
You don't even need a 'digital' coax lead, you can just use 75ohm interconnects if you have any lying around. Other wise I have a Ross one from Beyond that cost a fiver and it is perfect, certainly wouldn't spend anymore.
As for the QED Silver Ann Richer is probably going to be the cheapest, but a discount may be available if you are buying reasonable amounts.
cheers for that just
I have purchased the qed from richers but still need to get the coaxil lead.
At the moment, im using a simple phono-phone which is very cheap and although it works, I dont think it is sheilded very well.
Also got 2 x gale bananas but at a fiver each are pretty expensive - this the going rate???
Try Mikek for help here.I posted this question a few months ago and as always mike was more than helpful.A decent cable was available for iirc around a fiver.I cannot recall the website at the moment but a few peeps expressed an interest, maybe they could recal the url.
