Unable to connect with scanner

Running XP with a Xerox Onetouch 2400 scanner. Driver is contained within the Paperport software and is connected via USB.

The scanner is installed and I can see the icon in the bottom right of the screen, however, it has a red X through it. Whe I try to connect, I get the "Finding Scanner" timebar and then the message "Unable to connect with scanner"

Any ideas anyone, and thank you?

all scanners normally have a twain driver, which is accessed through the software, thats how paperport access's mine. sounds like you still need to install the Twain driver.

If you look in scanners & cameras in control panel is your scanner listed?

if not its not installed correctly at a guess

Have you looked at the website to see if there is an XP patch? I've installed 2 scanners in the last couple of months for people and I've had to download a different driver than came with the kit.

I've done some more searching around today and it seems the software is not compatible with XP:mad:

Looks like it'll have to go back.

which version of paperport? I've run 8 & 9 with no problems on XP

I managed to find a helpline number and now it is all sorted!
