Your favouite Godfather

For me it's like this:

Godfather
Godfather Part 2
Godfather Part 3


(nice and simple!).... People under-rate Part 3, I was expecting it to not be that good and sure, it ain't as great as the others, but it's still an incredibly amazing film in it's own right, all it does is show just how good the first 2 realy were, because people under-rate it in comparison with parts 1 and 2...

Between 1 and 2, it's a hard choice... part 2 has those two great storylines with de niro in an oscar-winning eprformance and pacino better than ever, but part 1 had the unforgettable, absolutley flawless incredibl actor Marlon Brando in it, and it's just too great a thing to miss out on... however good the second one was... what do you guys think? A few of you will probably prefer part to part 1, and some of you might hate the third one... post away :) hehe

The first two are basically equal pegging, but De Niro's back story just swings it in favour of 2 for me.

Hyman Roth's scenes are rivetting, the final scene is devastating, and, IMHO, there are more memorable lines.

Number one comes first, but only just. Number three is last, but is still a fantastic film -- I love it as much as I do the others.

Am I right in thinking that the first two were cut together once for TV? But in chronological order? I seem to remember reading that on IMDB but can't be bothered to check :p While that would be a nice idea, I think making it chronological ruins much of the point/effect of the second! :eek:

All three are marvelous films, though, so I'd rather just say "the Godfather trilogy" rather than put them in any order ;)

The vhs boxset is in chronological order sput and makes quite interesting viewing. My fave is
