Well I've finally caught that bug-rampant on this forum
Want to upgrade my Yamaha DSPA1000 :)
Budget STG£300-400
Any opinions welcome
Am thinking about Marantz 4200/5200
Yamaha DSP ax620/RXV 620 rds
with the latter is the tuner the only difference?
Where I live I can get BBC radio 1 and 2 and classic fm quite good with RDS on my car radio-even though it's travelling 60-80 miles across the Irish sea from Wales-Will the RXV connect to an outdoor fm aerial?
Thanks
Conn

denons 3802 spend the extra and get it. you wont regret it.
I have a AVC-A10SE but i heard the 3802 and its wicked. good for music aswell.
or even the Denon 2802, which I've got on order. You can pick one up for £485 (GB) Only main difference is 2802 is 6.1, and 3802 is 7.1 and DDSC (some digital thing?!) :)

Hi just to add to this-Got the pioneer DV646A DVD player from upgrade heaven yesterday and it a brilliant piece of kit!
Sound is truly Awesome!
Also picked up a Yamaha Rxv620rds on loan here locally-It is streets ahead of my old amp-together with the player-my speakers have leapt to life!! :) :) :)
I have read that this particular amp is best for the home cinema set up but lets you down when listening to your favourite CD's-
My ears haven't really noticed this.

p.s No where in Dublin had a 3802-heard the 2801 though-great machine!
I've got the RXV-620RDS. The tuner is the only difference over the DSP-AX620. It (AX620) came top in a recent What Hi-Fi (I think) supertest. It is a superbly musical product and seriously kicks bottom.
To answer Conn's aerial connection question - Yes. I got mine from http://hifijunkies.co.uk - also highly recommended.
