I want this TV really really urgently as I have just completed my mini movie room and have all the equipment apart from a bloody TV!
I want the Philips 28PW6006 as it is only £350 including delivery, but they are waiting for new stock and I cant wait 4 weeks!!!!!
Does anyone else know where I can buy this TV for around the same price...I do not mind going up to about £400 butI'd rather get it cheaper.
Also, does anyone else have any suggestins for a £350 28" widescreen tv?
cheers

You don't say where it is that's out of stock right now...
Usual suspects to try are;
www.unbeatable.co.uk
www.empiredirect.co.uk
www.hispek.co.uk
Give them a go. It's a great telly (I've got one) and probably worth waiting for if none are in stock right now.

Errmmmm... Unbeatable :p
Had to wait two and half weeks for mine too. Seems like a really popular telly at the moment.

John,
As you have a 28pw6006 set and as im still going to get the 32" version could you tell me what you think of the screen as I can not find one in any shops. Im interested in finding out how flat it is as I know that it is not a true flat screen but do you get any distortion or glare from it ?
Thank you for your help.

It's certainly way better than a traditional non-flat tube. I'm not sure how I can give you a quantitative measurement of flatness though. It's got what Philips call an 'ultra-flat' tube (their true flat screens are called 'real flat'.). The curvature will also be more exaagerated on a 32" screen, so I can't really comment for that one.
Regarding glare, it really depends on the type of lighting. In full-on bright lighting, yes there's reflection. Under normal light there's no problem though.
Regarding distortion, I've always (IMHO anyway) found that flat screens have worse geometry than conventional curved screens. Trying to get a radial beam of electrons to produce a non-distorted image is much more difficult to do on a flat screen, rather than a conventional curved screen. All the verticals look pretty damn straight on this telly to me.
Can't really comment on picture quality though. The 32" version has a different tube (Blackline-S) to the 28" version (Blackline-FX). The Blackline-S is the same tube as in the discontinued 28PW6305 which always seemed to review quite well though.

Hey, think of it as a spiritual experience. Waiting for something is a far more intense emotion than actually having it.
I've got a 28PW6006. It's really nice. Have you got one?
HA HA! Me so funny! :p
sorry.... :(

dabs sell Philips TV's too - the 6006 is 417 quid - ordered on request, so I dunno how long it'd take them...
