Its difficult to come up with new ideas because I repeat myself every week ... I guess thats why MB has stop answering these threads ;)
Well you could try looking at the entries for this years 46th Asian Film Festival. BULLETS OF LOVE, SHAOLIN SOCCER and JIANG HU: THE TRIAD ZONE.
The selection of JIANG HU: THE TRIAD ZONE is a bit of a surprise as Andy Lau Tak-Wah's FULL TIME KILLER was widely expected to be the third representative.

Well I love Jet Li so how about peeps reconmend some of his R3 titles ?.
Infact how about reconmending the best Jet Li, Stephen Chow, Jackie Chan (non-HKL), Chow Yun Fat, Michelle Yeoh R3 titles.
Of course taking into account the quality of the DVD.:D
also, Does anyone know if "Touching Starlight" is available on DVD ?.

OK then don't !,
but don't expect to see me at your ock shan !.:D
OK...a quick list for three of those actors...
Chow Yun Fat....best to get his Ringo Lam collaborations on the cheap...bare in mind these are all quite dark films compared to his John Woo stuff.
Full Contact (decent enough disc)
Prison On Fire (v.good)
City On Fire (v.good)
and not Ringo Lam associated but still one of my all time faves...
Tiger On Beat - top disc from Universe as well.
Jackie Chan.
Twin Dragons (OK disc)
Wheels on Meals (OK disc, HKL in 2003 i think)
Jet Li.
Fong Sai Yuk 1 & 2 (both reasonable discs)
all of the above are good for Hong Kong discs...and cheap :D
i've got about 6 Stephen Chow films on order with my Legend of Zu so i'll let you know what the discs are like
dave.

Thanks kanedaa.
I don't spose you know anything about Tai Chi Master (Twin Warriors on R1 in US) ?.
Stars Jet Li & Michelle Yeoh.
As for Chans Meals on wheals, whats the difference between the megastar & universe release ?.
Are universe generally a better distributor than mega star ?.
Also whats the VCD of Fist of Legend like ?.

I think I read somewhere that the DVDs that have a MegaStar & Universe release were co-produced by them, so they're exactly the same, except the Megastar ones are twice the price!
Not 100% on the above statement though.

Tai Chi Master is a yuen wo ping movie so you can expect the fighting to be good and it is. Think lots of shaolin monks fighting.
Personally I don't like meals on wheels or twin dragons as the story is more juvenile than usual and the stunts tame (for JC of course).
Jet Li's Bodyguard from bejing has good fight scenes in it if nothing else.
Chow Yun fat in prison on fire 2 is also good but it is still cut on the HK DVD I think.
Triads the inside story is good, Stronger than usual plot with good acting. Think chopping with cleaver action. Loads better than the young and dangerous rubbish.

Having read a few of the HK reviews at the time (can't remember where) the megastar version is supposed to be much better. Is the one I went for and is very good.
Thanks for all the replies guys,
probably go for Prison on fire as it is on special offer for $30 !!!!
Jet Li's: Fong Sai Yuk 1 & 2, Tai Chi Master, Last Hero in China, My Father is a Hero, Bodyguard from Beijing, Hitman, High Risk (cut), OuaTiC 1, 2, 3 & China and America, and maybe the Shaolin Temple films.
Tai Chi Master's a good film. Not quite up with the Fong Sai Yuk's, but still good entertainment. However, the Cantonese track on the disk is pretty bad. Having said that, there's little chance of getting a better version in the near future, so I'd go for it.
Bodyguard from Beijing is no longer available on HK DVD or VCD, but if you try a shop like Sensasian, or Yesasia, you might find the Malyasian VCD – the picture's pretty dark, and 4:3, but the film's good.
Stephen Chow films: Royal Tramp 1 & 2, God of Cookery, King of Comedy, Love on Deliver. The disks vary in quality, but the films are a lot of fun.
Michelle Yeoh's: Butterfly and Sword (cut), Heroic Trio, Police Story 3: Supercop, Wing Chun (VCD),
Jimmyboy, never heard of Touching Starlight. Could it be going by a different title? Some info please?

I only stubbled across it by accident.
Apperently its a film which Zhang ZiYi starred in before The Road Home.
She played the part of a female DJ iirc.
It went straight to TV, so a DVD release is probably pretty slim.

According to this review (http://www.asiandvdguide.com/reviews/wheelsonmealsmsrem.html) the MegaStar release of Wheels On Meals is definitely the one to go for has it has an extra scene & it's been remastered.
Chow Yun fat in prison on fire 2 is also good but it is still cut on the HK DVD I think
yeah it is, but after reading the description of the cut I'm sort of glad!
The scene where (prison inmate) Chow Yun Fat stabs an evil security guard (played by Elvis Tsui) in the eye with a sharpened-up toothbrush (near the conclusion) is cut. After a while, the security guard pulls the toothbrush out of his eye. That is missing as well. But, the crazy thing is...the sound of the toothbrush going into his eye can be heard
