i have a radeon 9700 pro card in my machine, i recently replace the cooling fan, with a custom cooler master fan, that sits on top with a large heat sink, since installing this i have had some problems

games tend to stick, ie pause for a few secs then restart ,every 10secs to 2mins,this is made worse when i s tick the fan to high speed from the back??

it sounds like a cooling problem doesnt it? cod is virtually unplayable now??

any ideas or sugestions?

Are you sure you have the fan blowing the right way?

Perhaps you should monitor the temperature of the card and compare it to average running temperatures of 9700pro cards.

Did you use some sort of thermal paste on top of the GPU/memory chips when putting on the new heatsink? :searchme:

It mustn''t be seated at all on the VPU - check and double check ;)

Sounds like a Arctic VGA Silencer you using yeah? Some cards you need to remove the metal shim from around the VPU for the heatsink to make good contact.
