Hi,

This may be a dumb question. I have one of the HDD enclosures from e-buyer with a 40GB Seagate HDD fitted and am having problems with it connected via USB2.

I am trying to export a Cakewalk Guitar Tracks Pro bundle file but I keep getting a waring coming up, telling me that the information has failed to write to the disk, that I've run out of memory and that the disc may be full.

The device is also prone to vanishing from "My Computer", so I'm wondering if this is a usb2 fault? As the enclosure also has Firewire, I was wondering if it is possible to connect it through the Firewire scocket that is on my Audigy player soundcard? or would this be for another audio device only?

My computer is an Athlon XP2600+ based system, 512KB memory and running Windows XP Home Edition.

Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Yes you can use it - until I upgraded my mobo, I was running my iPod through the firewire on my audigy card. Its just a standard firewire socket.

i too run my ipod from this socket. Ipods are known to be a bit picky with the firewire ports they work on so if an ipod works on it everything else probably will.
