View Full Version : Vodafone....matching the 3g deal almost
I renewed my contract yesterday...400xnet minutes £25
Not quite as good as the 500xnet with 3....but good nonetheless..
If anyone is up for renewal I got the above and a Samsung E710:clap:

Im led to believe its an issue with reliability....oh...and actually having a half decent handset.
I also managed to get 50 text's for £3...
BARGAIN...i think..
i dont get the big deal..... go to any O2 retail store and you get 6 months double mins + texts free..... so 500 mins and 100 texts as well as your choice of phone for £35 a month and dont even need to be a previous customer....

Yeah but you're with 02. Don't know what they're like in your neck of the woods but round here you'd get a better signal with a baked bean tin and a bit of string.

With 3G you can have 750 x network mins for £17.50 per month
we have two in our house and no problems whatsoever. It's a sad fact that the poor publicity they received at launch has stuck and it's totally unjustified.
Also there are several really good phones available now.

i've got the nec 3g phone and like Rippig have had no problems with signals etc, the battery life isn't very good if you keep using the videoconferencing, but if u use it 4 normal voicecalls its excellent VFM.
plus you save 8 a month compared to ur deal, which works out to be 96quid. with that you can buy a real gameboy or a proper 3.1m pixel camera

Yay..
Makes me happy to see we have at least one happy customer :)
Yeah the new LG phone is great and the new sony is pretty good if a little large. The new motorola which you dont know about yet is also, very nice indeed.
The NECe616 is ok. Not my cup of tea to be honest but it does have some nice features.

Just go to the 3 Website (http://www.three.co.uk)
Although I've left them after just one month on Threepay.
Totally happy with the package pricing etc and no real reliability issues.
BUT
The top up system has got some serious issues which resulted in me putting a top up on and not updating my account correctly.
The response from 3:
"Yes we can see you've added a top up but we have a fault. So in the meantime your cash credit will be billed instead of inclusive texts/minutes".
Me:
"So will you re-imburse me for the cash used so far - bearing in mind that I was under the impression that my top up had been successful (cause the sytem told me that) and had no idea my cash credit was being used instead due to YOUR system fault?"
3:
"No."
Me:
"So it's your fault and you're taking responsibilty and still will not even as a good will gesture add a small cash credit back onto the phone?"
3:
"No we won't do that."
I'm back on Vodafone now. Might not be cheap but they're on the ball with customer service if you should have a problem.
And as I write this, 36 hours later, I can still not use my minutes that I've paid for.
Disgraceful.
(Sorry about the length of this reply but a bargain is not always a bargain - go with Vodafone instead of 3)
Hats of to voda, my phone wasn't delivered yesterday as i popped out. I explained i needed it urgent and its due to be redelivered today before 12...at no extra cost!
