Well I heard rumours we would be seeing the N-Gage QD this month in Europe, probably not going to happen but maybe it will.

But is it already a failure? No radio player or MP3 support, not even a camera which could be included in a device as big as the N-Gage!

And a hot swapable MMC slot? Wow! Does anybody ever buy the games in the first place? - And do the cards stick out as shown in pictures - If so are they on drugs?! It looks rather unattractive to be staring at a MMC card all day! (I love having a memory card in my N-Gage - Easy way to test programs and also watch videos and then be able to easily delete them using my PC.)

It may have the advantage of no sidetalking. But does it really make that much difference? I can still talk just fine on my N-Gage, if I decided I hated it so much I could just use the handsfree :|.

So will anybody buy the QD?! I just cannot understand it - It can only have sucess if it retails for well under the £100 price mark, as I would rather have a £99.99 N-Gage over the QD anyday!

In my eye it's already a failure because there is no way on earth I would buy one.

I'd rather have a real phone and a real handheld not someone trying to jump on a bandwagon

Compare the QD and original Ngage's features, and the quality of its games with the upcoming Nintendo DS and Sony PSP. Its dead in the water. Nobody is going to want to use it as a phone, and nobody is going to want to use it as a handheld games console.

I really can't understand why they bothered with the QD.

I really do not understand how a company like Nokia ever thought they could make money out of this. Like it has already been posted above I would rather have a proper mobile and a dedicated handheld. Compare it the DS and PSP it is already dead.

Even if they concentrated on making a mobile games machine they'd have their work cut out for them to beat the SP! :cuckoo:

It was doomed to failure from the start, whoever gave the go ahead for this is insane.

Well the Gizmondo ( crap name i know) is due out next month and is set to show Nokia how its done.

The games look amazing
No obvious design faults
Camera
MP3
Movie playback
GPS
bluetooth

the list goes on and on. As much as i rate Nokia as a mobile manufactrer the N-Gage is just crap (and you look like a prat when making a call on version 1)

You can mod the version one N-Gage though now. Just unscrew the back and drill a small hole and no more side talking.

Personally from a looks perspective I think the QD looks ugly compared to the version 1 model.

reading reviews of the games, it sounds like they are mostly rubbish, seems like they even messed up puzzle bobble and puyo puyo. So it needs good games, if they get some good games on it i think people will buy it.

just got one of the originals myself (thanks to the bargain forums) as an upgrade to my 3300 (again bargain forums) and i cant see why people slag it off so much, for the price it has loads of good features, i think it uses the same os as top end nokias which go for £100's.

Regarding the new one i dont think i would buy it as the main feature for me is the mp3 player, but saying that, if it uses the same system then you should be able to get 3rd party ones? so it could be good. in the end i dont think it will convince people as a propper gaming device with out quality games.
