Both to star in "Hero", a wire-fu martial arts picture costing some 200 million Yuan making it the most expensive film shot in China.

Plot details below -
Z's role is as the 'Maid of Broken Sword'. The male Broken Sword character (Tony Leung) is one of 3 assassins. This is a complex story of those three assassins (along with Maggie Cheung & Bai Shiquin) trying to kill the first Emperor of China. Apparently, all 3 assassins end up facing Jet Li, who, protecting the Emperor as the character Silencer, is actually an assassin himself. Of course, he dispatches all 3, thereby gaining the Emperor's trust and setting the Emperor up. Silencer does die at the end, unlike the typical Jet Li superhero character. Z's role as the maid of one of the assassins is not yet clear, all though it is rumored to be extremely dramatic and a tear-jerker

[Ghost Dog]

looks good plus Maggie Cheung is in it :D and its directed by the consistently excellent Zhang Yimou (The Road Home, Not One Less, Shanghai Triad, Red Sorghum). 200 million yuan isn't that much compared to Hollywood though (its about US $25 million). Still that is a lot for a Chinese film, hopefully the money will be wisely spent. I just hope Columbia don't butcher the film when they bring it to the west :( .

Finally, Jet Li in the kind of roles he excels in. And what a line up! can't wait for this one.

Let's not forget, the always excellent Tony Leung (Chiew Wai). Cinematography by Wong Kar Wai stalwart, Christopher Doyle, which is another plus. :)
