View Full Version : The Sendit.com Bargain Thread
http://www.andyworth.co.uk/~affiliates/sendit/2004_04_si_dvds_468x60.gif (http://tracker.tradedoubler.com/click?p=17328&a=60823&g=109565)
This is a thread in a similar vein to the DVD Soon (http://www.thedvdforums.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=279939) bargain thread. The aim is to provide a central point for all bargains from Sendit.com (http://tracker.tradedoubler.com/click?p=17328&a=60823&g=109565)
In these first few posts we will try to keep up lists of the current offers they are having.
Don't forget they also sell Games and VHS ( :gag: ) as well as accessories.
Where's the bargain then?

Like the DVD Soon thread, there are various bargins with this company (just look at their site (http://tracker.tradedoubler.com/click?p=17328&a=60823&g=109565) to see the various offers they have one which change all the time (in a very similar way to Play's offers), and this is a thread to keep them all in one place as it seems to have worked to good effect in the other thread. Also these are a forums affiliate so purchases made through these links will help keep the forums running!
There have been quite a few individual posts recently for this company so one thread to keep them together and for us to point out new promotions seems a reasonable idea to me!

They sometimes e-mail out discount vouchers for £3 off any product, but in my experience these threads are often closed because they are only open to registered customers and not any one and therefore not considered a bargain.
The last one was around a month ago when they changed their name from Blackstar.
The general consesus when a post like that appears is that the £3 discount just about makes their prices reasonable, so I second Indigo, but can understand that this is to help the affiliate scheme and keep the DVD Forums going :)

Here you go, if we need to justify our pitiful attempts at earning enough to keep the site going, here's a Bargain for you:
Just got an email from Sendit (BlackStar) (http://tracker.tradedoubler.com/click?p=17328&a=60823&g=109565) and they have Universal 'from £5.99' Sale. Titles that stood out for me were Jaws 2, 3 & 4 (http://tracker.tradedoubler.com/click?p=17328&a=60823&g=109565&url=http://www.sendit.com/video/promotion/universal.1) others titles Included Airwolf & A-Team etc etc
This was posted by "Mew" yesterday evening in this thread (http://www.thedvdforums.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=289790).
This is an attempt to streamline the threads in the Bargain forum as we have done with other companies. Rather than have thread after thread about the same company we'll keep it all together. It's always worked in the past, no reason it shouldn't now.
should we have a bargain thread like this for all major etailors that we use offen like play etc?
save on forum postings.

I think ultimately it would be the way to go. The Bargain Forum uses far too much resources for the return from it. If we could slim line things I think it would be a great help to everyone AND save us all seeing those "server busy messages" - maybe this thread isn't the place for this discussion though ;)

Just to try and get this thread back on topic ;), a possible bargain is
Mystic River (Preorder 7th June) - £11.99 - here (http://tracker.tradedoubler.com/click?p=17328&a=60823&g=109565&url=http://www.sendit.com/video/item/7000000089738)
I understand now! Just a bit hazy when there are no proper bargains posted...
Mystic river is 11.99 at Play, CD-Wow, DVD.co.uk, Pricestorm, Concept.........and cheaper at two others, so it's a bargain compared to high street ;)

Okay, some Fox classics at sendit.com (http://tracker.tradedoubler.com/click?p=17328&a=60823&g=109565);
The Halls of Montezuma, Twelve O'Clock High, The Flight of The Phoenix, A Yank in The RAF, all at £4.99 (£5.99 at play.com)
Dig around, probably many more of these Fox cheapies on offer.
---
So many films, so little time...
they've got the film Ripper for GBP 2.99 - its one of those cheap hollywood dvd's but the film got reasonable reviews on its release and it does have a commentary.

DvdSoon have some cracking bargains but Im not too impressed with these guys!
If anyone else should have another bargains thread I reckon it should be DVDPacific !

Call me biased (where the forum finances are involved, I am!), but can't see them getting a rolling thread like this in a hurry as they neither sponsor or allow us to affiliate link to their site. We're not a charity so won't be providing them with free advertising.

I can't think of a company less worthy of a thread in this forum than sendit.com - hardly any of the posts in this thread have actually mentioned any bargains!
Trekker, is there any way of setting permissions on a thread so that we can ALL add to the original post? That way we could maintain the first post rather than it becoming very hard work ala the DVD Soon thread?
There is little opportunity for people to mess about cause it would stamp the post with the "last edited by" anyway which would allow you guys to exact your wrath on any would-be clowns :)
... just a thought

Just reviving this thread with what may be a genuine bargain. Their Fox summer promo starts with DVDs at £3.99; snagged me Q & A for that. Excellent.
Link to the sale here (http://tracker.tradedoubler.com/click?p=17328&a=60823&g=109565&url=http://www.sendit.com/video/promotion/04fox_summersale).
Their MGM sale also has some decent bargains, for instance Kes and Gods and Monsters for £4.99. Link to sale page here (http://tracker.tradedoubler.com/click?p=17328&a=60823&g=109565&url=http://www.sendit.com/video/promotion/04mgm_80yrs)
Star Trek Original Series DVD sets are now £51.99 each....... cheaper than Choices Direct and Play!

They've got Rainbow Six 3 for the XBox for a nice tidy £12.99
Al
Sentit.com (http://tracker.tradedoubler.com/click?p=17328&a=60823&g=109565) have Paul Schrader's The Comfort of Strangers for £4.99, which is the cheapest I've found.
Mind you; I've had it on order for a month now and it still says " status: Temporarily out of Stock: Reordered". Think it's time for an email.
Run Ronnie Run DVD for only £6.99.
DVDPriceCheck gives DVDPopcorn, £13.99, as the cheapest.

Nicholas Nickleby (2002), 2-disc CE, £5.99 (http://tracker.tradedoubler.com/click?p=17328&a=60823&g=109565&url=http://www.sendit.com/video/item/7000000084083)

I believe The Sims 2 is cheapest at Sendit, unless anyone would like to correct me?
Half life 2 (http://tracker.tradedoubler.com/click?p=17328&a=60823&g=109565&url=http://www.sendit.com/game/item/6000000000246)
No idea if I've affiliated it right, but half life 2 is £24.99 for pre-order here. About the average price, but the free postage makes it worthwhile.
