View Full Version : Latest Windows XP Update!?
My XP just downloaded the latest update, and began installing it. Kerio firewall then told me what was occuring, and I noticed in the text of the firewall message it mention it was launching xpsp2. I assume this means XP Service Pack 2 is being installed by Windows Automatic Updates?
I aborted this update as I really don't want SP2 installed on my system until I know it is totally okay and not full of bugs.
Anyone able to confirm what this update is about, and the Windows Update Site now doesn't show any critical updates for me as my system has just downloaded them...
Windows downloaded an update for me this morning but according to Windows update it was only a security fix:
This is my last entry on windows update
Successful 12 May 2004 Security Update for Windows XP (KB840374) Automatic update
Windows still says it is Service pack 1
and i have no other updates to install
Okay thanks. Now I yes I just need to work out how to get Windows to start installing the patch again, as I end tasked the installation...

Rolling latest update out now via SUS at work. No reboot is always good to keep user support calls down.
the SP2 part could be, that its inc in SP2 alot of hotfixes are listed as this, if you check add/remove programs.
yeah security fix today, seems theres one of them a few times a week at the moment
