On May 18, 2004, critically acclaimed songstress, Tori Amos, will release her first commercially available live concert DVD, Welcome To Sunny Florida. The 18-song show was recorded on September 4, 2003 at Sound Advice Amphitheater in West Palm Beach, FL. A six song bonus CD of previously unreleased songs, Scarlet's Hidden Treasures, is included.

Here's what the press have said about Tori's performances
when touring in support of Scarlet's Walk:

Voted #5 Best Live Performer
…onstage she's a one-woman wrecking crew.
- Rolling Stone

…her music isn't driven by anything so predictable as a
beat. The tempo varies from one line to the next; each
phrase is a new gust wind, pushing the song forward while changing it's momentum.
- New York Times

…fans quietly paid respect to the goddess of ethereal
emotional angst who could - and did - jar wispy musical
moments into hard epic action at the drop of a hat.
- Philadelphia Inquirer

Her singing…was typically powerhouse, shifting easily from
operatic to breathily intimate… Amos was at times
positively voracious, writing on the bench and rocking to
the sensual flow of new songs and older material.
- Los Angeles Times

Amos' searing, passionate voice - a fabulous instrument in
itself that speaks with conviction and real emotion and is
at once intense and ethereal - is central to her sound.
- Hollywood Reporter

It's the same thing. Got mine on Saturday (thank you, DVD Pacific, sirs!) and it's good. Widescreen, 5.1 good bit rate, some songs missing from the show, but an excellent set. CD is a bit underwhelming though.

Shame that its not classed as a dvd on cd-wow's site as i could use the £1.50 link. Might order this now anyhoo. Where's the cheapest place?

Got mine with the discount but it hasn't arrived yet :(

It better arrive tomorrow as I have a day off work and need a Tori fix - wonder if I'll cry like I did at the concert!

mikegray - did it bring back memories from the tour? I'm starting to forget it. :(

Not to a great extent - obviously it's nice to see a show from the same tour, but there's a world of different between enormodomes in 5.1 surround and the Wolverhampton Civic, Manchester Apollo, and Glasgow Armadillo with sticky floors and too much bass. ;)

Any idea if Tori will be touring again? I only knew about 2 of her songs when i saw her at wolverhampton.

I`ve had the R2 on order at play for just over a month and it was due to be released in the uk on the 17th but they pushed it back to the 24th and now play are listing it as the 28th, I hate waiting for stuff!, I should have gone for the R1

RESSEH, Apparently she`s starting work on a new album in the summer so that should mean another tour

Some rumours I have heard...

1) There was meant to be a second UK tour in 2003 which would have taken in a lot of smaller, university style venues in an effort to gain some new followers in smaller, cheaper venues. Obviously this never came to fruition.

2) And this one may still happen - there are plans afoot to record and release the shows from the next tour she does...

Is the video anamorphic Mike?

I think so. Don't be quoting me, though...

Just got mine - B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L !!!!

Welled up like a baby!!!

Loved the lights on CSNY - it did remind me a lot of Wolverhampton and brought back great memories.

Professional Widow is absoultely superb and I liked the version of Sugar as well - not so in your face angry, bit more subtle. Still can't stand that version of Crucify though - terrible! Cooling was so pretty and Hey Jupiter. I haven't even watched the whole thing yet or listened to the CD but I love it. :luv:  :luv:

Still don't like the CD much. Got to agree about Crucify. Over the course of the three gigs I saw it became a constant "oh no, here it comes" moment and it seemed to get longer every night as if threatening to become some hideous prog rock centerpiece to the show! ;) I skipped it on the DVD so don't know whether I still don't like it or it got any longer as the tour progressed. Does the UK version censor Professional Widow as the US one does?

Listened the the CD - it's a bit crap isn't it! rejects from Scarlet's Walk. I quite like the intro to Apollo's Frock but I still haven't listened to everyone one of them all the way through.

Prof Wid isn't censored that I can see, which bit is censored on the US version, is it "starbeeper, just like my daddy"?

EDIT: Just listened to it again and PW is censored. Weird thing is though on the interview she quotes that line from the song and that isn't censored. Odd.
