This seems like it should be simple, but it has me beat. I've had a new PC built and the old Drive is in an external caddy on USB 2.0. I am trying to transfer my old email into my new outlook programme, but no luck so far. I have tried using import command on outlook but it doesn't seem to give you an option to determine where to find the files to import.

Anyone?

TIA
Stevie

You can't have followed the wizard through properly - you're looking to install a Personal folders (PST) file - the option is there

Or you could open outlook, go to Tools, then click on the mail setup tab.

click on the 'data files' button and it shows you where all your messages are being stored.

Browse to that location on your PC, and copy that file over onto your new hard drive, when you open outlook it should then import all your emails (inbox, drafts, sent) into your new outlook setup - I THINK :)
