why is it that when I open pages like this italia (http://www.channel4.com/sport/football_italia/) the pop-up blocker is not stopping the daewoo page from opening. I have tried a few blockers now, and it gets pass them all. I get the same problem with hemscott.com, just different ads.

What Daewoo page? :D
Both Opera and IE with Google Toolbar block it fine- maybe you could try one of those?
EDIT: Have you checked your PC for spyware? :suspect:
Cos its not a 'pop up' window as such?

what is it then?
Are you talking about the daewoo ad about 'space' plonked right in the middle of the page? It's embedded into the page rather than open another window which might be why some pop up blockers don't see it.

Taskbar is something else i think?, do they still offer the toolbar?. /me runs off to look...
:)
Also if you use Mozilla Firefox for browsing,
it has built in pop up stopping AND by simply adding a little code to a little text doc you can eradicate nearly all ads (popup and nonpopup) completely:D
Thats my firefox plug of the day over.
