View Full Version : DVD-R Media Idiot's Question

With my DMR E85 I tried dubbing from HD to a DVD-R last night and wasn't happy with the quality so deleted it from the DVD (no finalising obviously).

This is probably a really stupid question - is there any way of getting the full capacity of the disk back again? When I tried to put something else on there in Flexi recording mode, it said there wasn't enough space on the disk. Should I just bin the disk or is there a way around it?

Thanks in advance.

If you have burnt something onto DVD-R then there is no way of wiping the recording, thats only on DVD-RW.

Thanks - I thought that was the case, but I got confused when the E 85 was able to seemingly delete what I'd put on there (it certainly give the impression that's what its doing). Maybe that's just a quirk of the OS.

Thanks!

It does delete the file from the FAT but the disk is write once and therefore you cannot re-allocate the space to be used again.
