Peter Reid has been named as the new manager of Coventry City.

The former Sunderland and Leeds United boss has been confirmed as the replacement for Eric Black.......

....Coventry will now be looking for Reid to produce the sort of success he had at Sunderland when he took them from Division One into the top flight

 What Success was that then??????

MJ

Umm the success of taking them from Division 1 into the Premiership? It kind of says that in the text you quoted.

I can't say his appointment has gone down too well with Coventry fans.

But then he took them back down again.....repeatedly!!!

I think Peter Reid is the new 'Dave Bassett'!

To be fair (and I don't want to be :D) he took Sunderland up twice, and down twice.

Then he laid the groundwork for another relegation, and one with Leeds as well ;) (that's possibly a little harsh too)

My original point exactly....would you call that 'Success'?

I'm sure you could do better MJ, it's a shame the way Eric Black's been treated.

I hear Ranieri may be available.

I would much prefer Ranieri ( I know he will never come to Coventry unless the fool has taken a wrong turn onto the M1 )than " Long ball Reidy ".
The scary thing is though is that we know that is the " style " of play he will adopt. Now, he has no money to spend and we have a very short set of strikers ( Joachim, McSheffrey, Morrell ) other than, yeah you guessed it Dele Adebola.
Looking forward to some sore neck action next year I tell thee !!

Black was treated very badly by McGinnty and I think that will be evident on Sunday when alot of the City fans are planning on wearing black to show their support for Eric.
He did okay with the team he had and was looking like a promising - low cost - manager !!
Unlike Reid who has probably cost us a fortune that we just do not have
 :cuckoo:
Cheers
