Anyone had a threatening legalese email from the Royal Festival Hall about selling tickets for concerts on eBay?
If so, what did you? Did you withdraw your tickets from sale?
What are you selling, mozza tickets? What does the letter say?

Hopefully they just wont send the tickets out to the touts
How do they work out who the touts are?

Didn't E-bay share info with Radiohead to do this in the past?
According to the RFH site Meltdown tickets won't be sent until 2 weeks before the show which leaves it tight for ebay folks.
I have no problem with them asking for tickets to be withdrawn at this stage as they haven't gone out so it will stop the rampant touting. It will also mean people who failed to get tickets because of the chaos when they went on sale will be able to get them via the offical returns list held by the RFH.

Indeed they did but considering the amount of tickets involved it would have been much harder to police than these Morrissey shows.
I have just checked the RFH site and in their T&Cs is this clause
This ticket must not be re-sold for profit or commercial gain by any outlet other than SBC Box Office or one of its authorised agents. Failure to comply will make this ticket void.
As a slight aside Gene are doing a show at the QEH on the 25th but will head over to the RFH bar afterwards to do a 45 min electric set after the Morrissey gig finishes. They wil also do this on the 26th :D

Yeah, was 2 spare morrissey tickets.
That was essentially the message I received. My bad for not reading the T&C. Said something about a publicly funded venue etc.
I got the first 2 tickets I could see off their website, then managed to get 2 tickets for better seats so wanted to get rid of the first tickets I bought.
If RFH could run a workable ticketing system people wouldn't resort to buying from touts. Wonder if anyone at their hosts have heard of load-sharing websites?...
stillill, if you can't get rid of the tix that way I'll take 'em!

So you're touting tickets and coming here looking for advice? My advice would be to sell them for face value in the classifieds.

i have given away tickets for free at gigs just to cheese touts off.
It still winds me up when people snap up tickets that real fans would like to buy and then try to sell them at a profit. Never bought a ticket froma tout, nearest i got to it was in Dublin when i saw Sigur Ros, i only had tickets for the 2nd night and was desperate to get in on the 1st night. When i got to the venue we were on the guest list:D

Absolutely. In the old days the real fans could always get tickets because touts would only buy a small amount of tickets. With the increasing use of Ebay more people are setting up as touts meaning tickets disappear lilke lightning. It is easy to do and safe whereas before the internet anyone trying to flog tickets outside a venue ran the risk of getting on the wrong side of the touts. Not a pleasant experience.
I would love to take those tickets off your hands...I couldn't get through on the website and by the time i could they were sold out :(
I'm seeing him in manchester at the move festival after having to sell my MEN tixs ( face value i add ) as I've a wedding to go to on that day that I can't get out of
email me if you find your you have to pull the auction and need to get rid of them...pint or 2 in it for you :)
