Anyone else having trouble playing Disk One? It plays the Dreamworks Intro and then a blank screen, the machine then freezes up

Just checked it, and it works fine. Sounds like a problem with your player to me :(

I can feel a move to the DVD & Movie Forum coming soon. :p

My copy of Shrek plays OK on a Pioneer 626. What machine you using out of interest? Not a Wharfedale, Proline, etc.?

No it's a LG 3350E, and it's only a couple of months old. No problems with any other disks- R1 or otherwise. The second disk of Shrek plays okay too!!

Got Shrek from DVDImport

Email them then, I'm pretty sure they would send you a replacement :)

Know anyone else with a multiregion player that you could try it in? That would certainly prove whether it's a disc or player problem.

Anyone else had replacement disks from dvdimport? Do they insist on you returning the original first? What with the expense...

I've e-mailed DVDImport, knowing how crap their Customer Services seems to be, I might get a response in a month or two!

Weird- got the disk to work once, now when I re-insert it (oo err missus) and get it to resume from last position it seems to play okay that way. Damned annoying though
Technology eh? Bloody marvellous

Didnt this sort of thing happen with gladiator ? the 2nd disc wouldnt work on some players so you could send it off and tey sent you a new one which was made so it would be compatible ? thats a dreamworks title too... coincidence ?

Disk 1 wont play properly on my PC DVD (GPF's) but disk 2 is fine.

Both fine on my panny standalone player though!

Weird to say the least!

Did the same on my LG3350E; just pressed the menu button before it froze the second time, and that's sorted that.

Odd though; never had this problem before with over 100 DVDs, and the darned disk really locks up the machine doesn't it?
