Am looking for a stand alone multi region dvd recorder to replace my old vhs.
I have a number of dvd+ discs which i have recorded using my pc dvd recorder drive.
Do all players play back dvd + discs?
If not which ones? Am looking at between £250 and £350
thanks in advance

I bought a Philips DVDR70 for €370 from Dixons.
It can only use DVD +RW and +r.
In every respect it is a huge leap forward from my old VHS recorder.
The recorded picture is broadcast quality on the first three modes. (1,2 and 2.5 hours). The disks themselves are rapidly coming down in price. The random access nature advantage of dvd is self explanitary. Disk storage is neater.
Buy one of these. They are cool.

DVD+ is the poorest of the formats.DVD-RW offers more features,is more compatible, and will play your DVD+ discs also. For the ultimate in recording flexibility buy one with a HDD built in.Pioneer and Panasonic do these.I would go for the Pioneer model-its only fault is no RGB input, but if you have Sky+ that will be no problem.
