Always had a soft spot for these guys for some reason, and have to admit to loving the new record too.

Quite barmy in places, and some of it doesn't come off at all, but there are some gems here - 'We don't know where we're going' sounds like Liam Gallacher guesting on a Radiohead record, being played with a keyboard loaded with sound effects from 1980's arcade machines.

Beats most of the the faceless drivel I've heard recently anyway....

..oh and 'Catch Me Up' sounds like Lynnrd Skynrd after the aircrash.

Brilliant.

Their first album was amazing. Second was pants and lost interest in them after that. Are they back to their best or still smoking too many spliffs to come up with some original sounding material?

It's definitely patchy, but different enough to their previous releases to give it a listen...more 70's bizarro than anything though.

Second album is wicked !!

its the first one i got. But i hated it when i first got it, it was in the days when i still watched Top of the Pops every week and i only had pocket money to spend. I wanted to puke cos i thought i wasted my money. 20 listens later, its one of my favs.

dont forgot Abandoned Shopping Trolley, a collection of b sides and rarities, great CD for Buena Vista alone !!

not many gomez fans here ?

got it this morning. Im loving it so far ! Got a more 'accessible' sound to than the first 2 albums though. Gomez have seemed to have lost that raw sound. I dont know the names of the members but the one with the croaky voice has been underused in the last 2 albums, yeah soemtimes he can sound a bit samey, but We Havent Turned Around and Make No Sound were fantastic.

Very good this IMO, listened to it many times now... haven't done that with a 'new' album in quite some time.

Better than their last two, but still a distance from 'Bring it On'.

I think the last track 'There It Was' though is pretty pants, feels way out of place and I'll tend to skip it if I can be arsed.

Listened to it once. I think there was one half-decent song on it. Don't think I'll ever listen to it again.
