Who are your most distinctive vocalists? ones you cannot possibly mistake for anyone else?
I'd definitely go for Robert Smith, Morrissey, and Mick Jagger
Throw some more names in the hat :)

Hmm
Thinking long and hard about this and I think one I find very distinctive is the lead singer from Jamiroquai.
Not necessarily great talent, but he is certainly distinguishable for me.
Bjork.
Johnny Rotten
Ozzy Osbourne
Leanord Cohen
Lou Reed
David Bowie
Oh there's millions

Dusty Springfield
Frank Black
Frank Sinatra (no-one can even touch him)
Michael Stipe
Morrisey
John Lee Hooker
Kirsty Maccol
That bird out of the B52's.....Kate Pierson?

Much as I hate him, Liam out of Oasis

Just thought of another, surprised he hasn't been mentioned already actually, Tom Waits
There's millions depending on how familiar you are with their style.
For me, the main one has to be:
Chrissie Hynde - often imitated but never equalled. A true original.

Hmm. Can't say I agree with a lot of these. Some people seem to be be picking 'good' vocalists but not necessarily distinctive ones, IMO.
Thinking through, I'd probably have said neither Bob Dylan or Jimi Hendrix have ever really been imitated, and so stand out strongly as originals...
John Lennon had a distinctive style, but that was as much production, it seems.
Radiohead

Chuck D

Was listening to the radio at a very low volume last night (on in the background while we were talking in the car) and Robert Cray came on. Not only was his voice instantly recognisible but so was his guitar sound.
