NME website reports that London bootboys the Cockney Rejects are one of Morrisey's support acts on his meltdown dates.
What a double bill!!!

The Ordinary boys and the Libertines also support on some of his dates.
The full meltdown lineup includes Ari Up from punk girl group the slits (who was awful when I saw her live last year) and believe it or not - The New York Dolls

Ties in with his fasination for skinheads by having a well known old Oi! band like the Cockney Rejects, incidentally the last Rejects album "Out of the Gutter" is a great hard rock album.
And wasnt Morrisey the New York Dolls UK fan club president years ago ?

It was more the fact that the NY Dolls are reforming to play that suprised me.
Didn't the rejects turn metal after their first couple of albums anyway?
I always remember when I was in my early teens going into various dept stores that sold records and asking them to play Police car from the rejects first album (I know it was on their first single as well).The minute it started it was always taken off!!

Yeah they turned into a Heavy rock band.
They have just had their first 2 albums (Vol 1 & 2) reissued complete with b sides, comp tracks and a Peel session on each....great stuff! :thumbs:
