Hi,

I have just moved house and realised that my current cables aren't long enough to reach from my hifi to the speakers (these are bi-wired).

I am looking for recommendations on `bargain' bi-wire cable. It needs to have greater than 200 strands (the amp is a Sony TAFB940 and the speakers are Mordent Short Pearl 10i I think), but also it needs to be cheap!! (moving house is expensive business!). Also, the cables are going to be run under a carpet, so ideally it shouldn't be too thick.

Any advice, recommendations (particularly bargains) much appreciated.

thanks,

James

I would recommend QED Silver Anniversary Bi-wire. It isn't cheap though at 8 quid a metre from Richer, but it is lovely. It also isn't that flat either. Richer do most of the reasonably priced own brand stuff too, so maybe it is worth popping into your local and finding out which stuff matches your budget and is flat enough for your carpet.

I have MS20i Pearls (Front Floorstanders) and MS10i Pearls (Rears) and I have whem wired using the QED cable and it is cracking stuff well worth the money.

I found that the cable sold through http://www.mountainsnow.co.uk/ independant Hifi Retailers was very good and flat. I am using it under my carpet. The cable is manufactured at the same factory as the QED cables if I remember correctly. It has a similar specification just a bit cheaper and you can normally bargain them down a bit in price if you like to haggle!
