Hi guys, I could pick up this machine cheaply, but is it hackable, or do I need a chip for this 3109 machine. Does anybody know if its any good, or should I go for the 210 model?

It's pretty good, but the newer Toshiba models have replaced it.
I think it's successor is the 500E. The Toshiba 210 is one of the best budget machines you can buy, but for £250 odd you can have the Pioneer DVD 545 which is superior.

Does anyone know if Toshiba have actually replaced the processing chipset with these newer models, or whether they have just updated the software etc.?
Pretty sure all have to be 'chipped' for upgrade. I've seen a site that tells you what DVD player can and can't etc, but can't remember the address. Just try a search on google....
