I have had a R2 "Robots of Death" for some time, but I thought I'd mention this here again, just in case...

I have great trouble persuading the commentary track on this disc to stay off! Regardless of how I have the settings in the Special Features screen, direct selection of an episode or a chapter within an episode defaults to the commentary track. If I manually override this for, say, Episode 1, when Episode 2 is reached the problem returns. The only way the disc seems to default to the standard episode soundtrack is if it is left to begin play itself, i.e. by letting the main animated menu play itself out. And the only way to reproduce this state of affairs seems to be to remove and re-insert the disc.

In addition, the "forward" button from any of the chapter/episode/special features submenus seems to produce a "stop" crash of the disc, meaning I have to go through the menu CGI opening again.

I use a Pioneer DV-344 player, and have experienced identical problems on a DV-535. Has anyone else found this problem and is there a workaround?

Also, was there ever a recall on this disc, and does the R4 edition have similar problems? Anyone?
