Well, I don't know about cheaply but you could try contacting http://www.datamind.co.uk as they've been pretty helpful to me in the past. You could also try posting a message in the Archos forum on Yahoo - links on the Datamind site.

Also (though I know you said in the UK, but again they were pretty helpful to me on a prior occasion), you could also try contacting http://newmp3technology.com/ - if you e-mail them details of the problem, they'll give you a rough quote.
