View Full Version : King of the Hill on DVD!!
I absolutely love King of the Hill.
It not only beats The Simpsons, Family Guy, Futurama, South Park, whatever, hands down in the laughter stakes, it has sentiment without the cloying sentimentality of The Simpsons, some brilliant characters and feels somehow real.
The fact that Family Guy is getting a box set before this is somewhat irksome. I would pay a rather princely sum for season box-sets of King of the Hill (the first television show I'd buy), but don't let Fox hear!
Anyone else interested in having this truly excellent show on a load of shiny discs?

I am and indeed I am sure it will be at some point. As much as we would like to have everything we want released at once, the studios don't think like that! Besides, you gotta spread the cost out you know.... :D
Would be awesome to have KOTH DVDs   one of my fave shows, I got about 9-10 tapes of recorded episodes off of Channel 4 from a couple of years back, but would be nice to to have DVDs, plus I've missed alot of newer ones as whenever it is on Sky One I'm always out  , does anyone know currently what season they are on?

I think Sky one are showing Season 6 and in the USA season 7 is showing at the moment.
Also what about hole seasons of Daria on DVD :)
King Of The Hill is apparently scheduled for a mid 2003 release by 20th Century Fox. They have stated 2003 as being the year of TV shows on DVD.

King of the Hill is a great show and beats Family Guy and Futurama in the U.S.A ratings.........I love Futurama and I'm not knocking it......so it deserves a DVD release. Up till Season 6 K.O.T.H has 127 episodes. Season 7 is showing in the U.S.A.

I remember when King Of The Hill was the highlight of a Friday night on Channel Four.
And then when I was older, I went out. :norty:
But seriously, top show - almost hard to believe it's made by the creators of Beavis And Butthead.

KOTH is back on 4 Fridays about 0140 and don`t think it is repeats. This is great for those only have terrestrial pity about the time though:clap:
Excellent news about the DVDs  does anyone know whether it will be getting an R2 release, or is it gonna be R1 only?
Hope they work their way to bringing them all out on DVD, can get rid of all my old ratty VHS recordings of the show then ;)
If its back on Channel 4 I'm gonna start watching again  it was on Sky at Christmas, but only for a few weeks, and all repeats :(
If it is going to be $55, then snap it up for $30 from Amazon right now! http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B00005JM3G/dvdheadlines/002-4846351-7875262

...or $23.99 from www.northamericandvd.com ! Or $25US from Amazon.ca !
I’d say we have a better chance of Amazon honouring this though.
Gone with amazon.ca, they have honoured all my previous orders for mispriced items :D

Amazon.ca now have it for 38.95 dollars so the missprice has been discovered. This now means we are liable for customs tax so I'll wait. Great show though!

Do you reckon that would get snagged by customs? :suspect: or because you use the voucher will it reduce the overall value placed on the outside of the package

At amazon.ca it comes to CAD$37.67(...£16.25) including p&p if you use the $5 voucher, so customs should not be an issue :D
...what are you waiting for;)
I was looking forward to this before, but it's also receiving good reviews ! 1 (http://www.dvdtalk.com/reviews/read.php?ID=6602) and 2 (http://www.upcomingdiscs.com/dvd_review.php?load_this=kingofthehills1&review_where=studios).

Couple of questions:
How many seasons are there in total for KOTH?
Has the series come to and end for good?
According to this page (http://epguides.com/KingoftheHill/), there are currently seven seasons, 149 episodes in the can, and, to the best of my knowledge, the programme is still continuing.
DVDfile also have a complimetary review (http://www.dvdfile.com/software/review/dvd-video_6/kingofthehill_s1.html).

That's good then, I only asked because most companies tend to ship from out of mainland Europe.

EDIT: Just looked at their site and it says that all items are shipped from within Europe, so I guess I might get lumbered with a customs charge possibly :(
Anyone have any idea if this will be released in region 2 and when?

dont have a multiregion player.
I was a bit shocked to see this (http://www.hometheaterforum.com/htforum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=163899) today.
Are any retailers shipping it early ? Has anyone else got their hands on it yet ? I thought it didn't come out until (at the very least) next month.
