Another solid episode, but a bit patchy.

The stuff with regards to Tony's father's mistress was kinda dull, but the Christopher plotline was very amusing. Poor Junior's attempts to get outta the house via funerals was funny at first, but ultimately, kinda sad.

The last two episodes have been really disappointing after the first 5. I found the mistress stuff dull too but I guess it did stir up some problems with Tony and the New York mob guy - enjoyed the mini car chase scene!

The Christopher plotline was weird - I thought Chris was turning gay for a second  But the plotline with his friend is just a repeat of what we've had before e.g Tony and Arty, Tony and the sport shop owner (took his car like Chris did in this episode).

Good to see Buscemi also doing a bit of directing this series.

I'm dissapointed by the whole season. Its still good, better than a lot of tv shows around but its not a patch on the first few seasons.

I thought along similar lines about Chris, thought the other guy would make a pass at him.

Tony's father's mistress scene with JFK's hat was a bit :gag: !!

I actually thought this was a really strong episode with four good ideas that held up well. I didn't find the mistress stuff boring at all, and Tony's reactions along the way were fascinating (like his reaction to the dog!). Seeing her as a mother figure he could actually get along with (made easier by the fact that she was with his father) it looked like he might get some form of mental healing -- and as he became better friends with her, with the suggestion of attraction, and then started to dislike her after nasty comments about his hated mother... great stuff.

Chris being the architect of his friend's downfall was certainly similar to the Tony/Arty situation from a while back (less so with the sports store, I thought, as there wasn't really the suggestion that they were great friends), and perhaps deliberately so: showing Chris moving to be more like his idol. I just hope that Chrissie feels some remorse: the guy had an addictive personality and Chris failed him (in his role as a supporting friend in the self-help group) by getting him into the game and not stopping him later.

Junior's story was very funny for a while, although it seemed to have been stuffed into the middle of the season clumsily (Bobby's brief comment that medication was helping his memory, and the not-so-surprising ending with the medication failing to get Junior back into the memory-loss arc).

I thought the scenes with Tony and Phil Leotardo were great, though, especially the chase. "Jesus Christ mister, are you okay?!"

Have to agree with smst. This season has been a bit lacking in the violence department but it's still as strong as ever where drama is concerned.

Have a look at 'Deadwood' if you haven't already done so. There's a good chance that if you're reading this thread you'll like it.

Cheers,

Ratso:)

Anyone know what the music track was in the final scene with Tony? It sounded a bit Aphex Twin but wasn't one of his I am aware of.

Another recommendation for Deadwood here too - Western with an edge and lots of swearing.
