Moonbase 3 (70s BBC) - whats it like..?

Anyone seen the 1973 BBC series Moonbase 3? whats it like? will I like it?

I am a fan of Survivors, blakes 7 and Solaris..

Slow, with shoddy SFX and some hammy acting as well as an inflated sense of it’s own importance - It is everything I love about vintage BBC Sci Fi!!! :D Add to that one of the best theme tunes ever and it is an essential purchase for afficonados of the genre.

Gotta love it for the fact that at one time it was thought that Brazil would have a base on the moon! :nuts: :cuckoo:

Not sure I've ever seen it but it looks cheesy enough to be worth a look, and it was made the year I was born :D

I can just remember this being broadcast on a Sunday night - I was 7 or 8 and space mad so I loved it. Unfortunately I don't think much happened at all during the show apart from the last show which I thought was a bit scary.

I have the videos, and it is painfully slow at times, but it is quite good fun in a silly way. The main characters are quite cool, the effects are nice and funny, and the stories are interesting, particularly the final episode which has a really good story. I like Survivors loads and I would say Moonbase 3 is similar in style, but be prepared for some tedium, the pace is extremely leaden.
