some cd drives dont accept the media though so be careful if you want to listen to music with them in the car or something.

As it's not been mentioned AFAIK only Nero lets you over burn.

I've overburnt using those 99 mins CD-Rs to 85 mins and 82 mins using standard 80 mins CD-Rs.

Most CD Writers can only burn up to 89/90 mins too. I've yet to see any that can actually overburn to 99 mins.
