I am in need of a external HD case, prefeable with a Fan, USB2.0 Connection. I've only found one that is under £40 in this site, but the payment method seem to be bank transfer. I rather use credit card for net purchases tbh.

Hello ... long time no speak. You still a DVDF bod?
Anyway, back on topic. These guys are supposed to be good ... decent prices.

Rang them today and they said the "out of stock" stuff should be back on their website on Saturday.

Other options are to search for external case and external enclosure on ebay.
Funnily enough I was looking for a 5.25" enc. today so I'd done a bit of searching on google and through this forum's search.

Here's a supplier I think Coolhand mentioned in one of his posts. (http://www.directusbstore.co.uk/cnb/shop/directusbstore?listPos=&op=catalogue-products-null&prodCategoryID=2)

cheers SSB, like the first link's one, that has a built in fan, but can't find the USB2.0 version.
The Metal Gear Box looks too, but no fan.

This is the USB 2 one at megadata

This is the combined USB 2 and Firewire
http://www.megadataonline.com/en/product.asp?wpid=25&cid=113&scid=0&pid=165
Is that what you wanted? Give em a buzz on the phone if you want to check if they've got fans.
EDIT - if you compare the pics on the modecomputing and megadata sites, they're the same unit. Modecomputing have it listed as having a silent cooling fan. It's still cheaper at megadata (free shipping to boot)

cheers, you are a star. The Metal Gear Box does look the Biz thou, much more stylish.:D
About the same price..................It'll only be use as a Data Drive, mp3 and video played from it, i guess passive cooling no fan is good enough?

I guess it'll be fine ... most of these enclosures don't have a great deal of active cooling anyhoo. I agree about the Metal Gear Box though ... looks very nice.

Welcome ...
If by chance I ever get broadband again, I'll keep an eye out for you online.
I'll more than likely have to call myself something other than SSB to get a slot on your server though, but them's the breaks. It's been so long since I've played that I'll be the one at the bottom of the rankings (with a rifle). ;)
