When will the R2 release happen, and will it have the same special features as the R1? Buying from the States is giving me a few headaches at present, so if R2 releases follow on closely i tend to buy them just at the mo. Anyone?

11/12 isn't so far away so i may as well wait for the R2 if that's the case. Thanks for the replies.:)

BE VERY CAREFUL, CONCERNING THAT 11/12 RELEASE!!!
As far as I know, it's NOT the same version as the new R1 2-DVD set coming out around now. I think Paramount may be trying to screw with the punters, by releasing the "ordinary" version first and releasing the "Special Edition" sometime next year.
A friend of mine, who wants to get the new version, and works in the trade checked it out and discovered the R2 vesion coming out soon isn't the same as the new U.S. version. Are Paramount trying to pull a fast one???
If you check Play and Amazon, there are NO DETAILS given about the editions being released. That is suspicious!!!
Be warned!!!..........
................................And I hope, I've got the info right, ............

Surely they wouldn't try something as underhand as that - would they? The film itself would have to be the same as the US version - i.e. the directors version - so they might as well put the extras on...?
Now don't shoot me but I wouldn't actually mind that! I can then have both the original cut PLUS the SE version.
However, a trailer for The Director's Edition was classified by the BBFC recently.
Deaks.
yeah, I thought they were gonna go with the Silver packaging thing first and THEHN re-release the films with extras etc.
