My father in law (to be) is about to buy a budget dvd player (under £150).

Which is the best? (Must be multi-region)

Cheers

IMO the LG4710 for £128 (delivered) from dabs (http://www.dabs.com) can be made multi-region from the handset (see lgdvd.co.uk (http://www.lgdvd.co.uk) for details). I got one of these for my dad for his birthday and it is really impressive for the price.

If you are only wanting to play DVDs on it then the LG players are excellent for the money. The are very easily hacked for multiregion.Once the hack is set (to auto) they play any region without problems.

There are players for £99 that also play VCDs and can read CDRs.Some also play MP3 tracks from CDR or CDRW (10 albums on one CD - nice ;) ). The Cyberhome528 and the Acoustic Solutions are such player and are available at www.richersounds.com (both) or www.whsmiths.co.uk (Cyberhome only).
The quality is not as good as the LG players though.
