When I'm playing DVD's, I often hear voices in the background from whatever TV channel I was watching previously.

From the searches I've done on this forum, I've managed to pick up that removing one of my scart pins (pin 19 is it?) will stop this once and for all. But I haven't got a clue which scart pin it is as I can't find a diagram in any of my manuals or even on the net.

Will snipping this pin solve the problem? and if so where can I get a diagram of a scart layout??

I'm using a Phillips 32PW6615/25 with an RGB Scart Connector to a Pioneer DV530 if this helps.

Any help would be greatly appreciated:)

on my TV I get leakage from the rf aerial, so try taking that out and see if problem is still there.

thanks for the reply Jon

I gave it a whirl and instead of whispering, you could hear constant static in the background:(

anyone got any other ideas that might help?

I've managed to snip pin 19 and get a good scart diagram from
http://www.video-demystified.com/mm/tutor/scart/scart.htm but no diference - I was wondering should I snip the audio outs at the TV end?? pins 1 & 3

Now that is odd. The fact that you hear static rather than voices does suggest it is the RF TV signal (or lack of with the static) that is feeding through.

Do you have a separate amp, or are you running the DVD through the TV.

yeah - I hear whatever is or was on the last tv channel I watched - voices if the rf is in and static if the rf is out - I can't tune in "blank channels" either

I don't have a separate amp (yet) and my tv has dolby surround so I run it through the tv

Hi m8, my Samsung is the same. I'm alright watching DVDs cos I can turn sound down and use my amp, is annoying with my ITV digital cos I have to take the RF lead out (only have to put it back in for teletext so isn't end of the world.

I'm not quite sure how we could get round it for you though...

Yeah - when I get an amp I can just mute the TV then, but I was just wondering if I could get a quick fix in the meantime :(

Telly's crap mate. Got one too ... does the same ... it's been back to Philips' agent, who said there was nothing wrong with it.

So the telly ain't new then? Cos if it does what you say and its in warranty I would reject it and want all my money back.

Just to let you know. I get the same thing..

i have a Panasonic 24" Widecreen and Also

Panasonic 28" Widecreen.

If I turn the volume up high when the DVD menu is on I can hear "THE VIOCES" from the previouse channel I had before. If I remove the RF cable. The vioces go but I can hear a little static noise as the channel is not tuned in then.

If you find out LMK

Happens with my Sony Wega also - not a prob when watching something like Die Hard, but when viewing In the Mood for Love or similar it's VERY distracting!
