View Full Version : Rob Schneider is the new Bill Murrey
Anyone else agree/disagree.
I just think Rob is very much like Bill, in the way he looks and the way he acts. Both have come from SNL backgrounds and lets face it Bill hasn't really been successfull recently.
Make way Bill - Theres a new boy in town !
Compared to Bill Murray, Schnedier is like the Jimmy Cricket of comedy.
I'd also say that Bill Murray has had success in recetn years getting major appluad for more dramatic/comedy roles such as Rushmore

That is like comparing Jar Jar Binks to John Gielgud. Do not offend the brilliance of Bill Murray!
I will certainly admit that Bill's role in Rushmore was good, but it just wasn't Bill. Compared to the 80's comedies Cadyshack and Ghostbusters and the relativly unknown Quick Change and What About Bob Bill hasn't had a succesfull comedy for a long time. He was good in Charlie's Angels but have you seen Osmosis Jones ?? That is dire
I think Bill deserves more great comedy roles, but recently he hasn't been offered them OR when he has the parts have been shallow not allowing his character much room to develop.
Whereas with Rob, his new stuff like The Animal and Deuce Bigalow, while not not to the standard of Bill's best show us that this is an actor (and I use the term losely) that has the potential to be one of the funniest comedy actors of recent years

Mate, I've no idea who this Schneider is (I've seen 5000+ films no doubt) so how can you say he's better than Murray?
If he was any good I'd know.

Rob Schneider is the new Bill Murrey
 and  again......
Don't ever let me see anyone comparing Rob Schneider ( :) ) with Bill Murray ( :D ) again!
:D
Mate, I've no idea who this Schneider is

You know who he his, the guy who always pops in in Sandler films saying "You can do it". He was Deuce Bigalow, and the only person that made Judge Dredd bearly watchable.
so how can you say he's better than Murray?
Did I say he was better than Murray?? All I've said is that Murray hasn't had a decent comedy role for ages and that Schneider (also being an ex SNL guy) is quickly filling in the shoes that Bill Murray used to own.

Murray deserved a Vidal™ for his performance in Kingpin. :p
INSOLENCE BOY!
Who wants to take the first punch ?

Can Rob Schneider get slimed so good? I think not.
Can Rob Schneider repeat the same day over and over again, with such deadpan hilarity? I think not.
Can Rob Schneider deliver such a difficult acting performance that he can make the concept of fancying Andie Macdowell almost believable?? I think not. ;)

You've got a point!
2001's  'The Animal'
:D
Seriously though, he hasn't made enough movies in which he's starred as the lead to compare him to Murray.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. Groundhog Day is crap, unfunny and blatently ripped off from 12:01 pm

 - I must have been watching another movie when I nearly died laughing at this (near) masterpiece of a comedy....! :D

hmm, about the only decent and valid point I've so far on this thread :p;)
Hence why I said " (Rob) has the potential to be one of the funniest comedy actors of recent years"
masterpiece of a comedy
Well that's about the funniest thing I've heard/seen involving Bill in recent years :p

How can you say Murray wasn't funny in Rushmore, what about when he falls when jumping over the fence, when he stops the kid from making the shot while playing basketball and when he secretly drinks booze out of a coke can (improvised by Murray himself). These are all laugh out loud, 100% Murray.
Bolch, your lack of rating films is totally amusing. According to u, Groundhog Day was utter garbage and Jeepers Creepers is a film of the year. I think u need your head testing!!
U also say Murray hasn't done anything good in recent years... mmm. Kingpin, The man who knew too little, Wild Things, Rushmore...
Yet Schneider has co-starred in the attrocious Knock Off with Van Damme. The new Bill Murray? Time for that brain transplant.

Rrrrrriiiight....this is the guy whose lousy movie The Animal was talked up by Columbia by quoting their entirely ficticious "critic" - It was that good! Along with many other reasons he was why Judge Dredd stunk so bad.
Clearly you are trolling with this thread so I won’t even bother to address your ridiculous comparison to Bill Murray.
the title for this thread is funnier than ALL Rob Schneider films :D

Ah, now I know! Who's Bill Murrey BTW?
I checked his IMDb stats and he's made 31 films and they're all complete smeg.
I think you're trolling whereas your time would be better spent @ www.dictionary.com

I think it really is time to go to the pub..........
Each to their own, but IMHO anyone who things Wild Things and The Man Who Knew Too Little were good is the one who needs a brain transplant.
I'm going to stand by my opinion that Bill hasn't done anything worth watching (with the exception of Rushmore) since What About Bob.
Is Rob as good or as funny as Bill? No. Did I say he was? No.
All I've been trying to say is that Rob has come from the same entertainment background as Bill and even looks the same (it's the haircut that does it). Because Bill hasn't done anything worth watching in recent years, maybe it's time.
btw nc - did I say Jeepers Creepers was the film of year ? I think not
IMHO Groundhog Day is a poor rip off of 12:10 pm, which even though only lasting half an hour had a much better story and script! (Why has this practicly turned into a Groundhog Day is good/bad thread) ?
APPRIA40WR - You managed to use the word trolling two posts after someone else, maybe you should try the Thesaurus at dictionary.com :D
Anyway, it's clear that you all love Bill, and I'm not going to take that away from you. I do think he was a comic alas, for me, he's pasted his sell by date.

Rob Schneider, Chevy Chase for the 21st century.
I wish you'd paste your sell by date, Bolchy.
Jeez, anyone else think we should have an IQ test prior to Forums registration. My guess is that this thread would be one member short ..
(I can hear him now : "Well in that case, GK, how could the thraed even exist in the first place if I wasn't on the Forums ?! Ha !!" I need a drink ...)
