Well I emailed them but it would seem that no-one has answered and it's quite urgent I get these details. For my e-commerce module we have to do an online business model appraisal and I have chose the impact of Paypal on the Ebay model. To do this study though I need a few minor details that I am hoping some of you forumites may be able to help me trace or may even know the answers to the questions below. I tried using Google but I ended up getting Business sites that ACCEPT Paypal and don't actually talk about it.
1) The financial cash-flow of Paypal as a whole (although I'd be greatful to accept just the UK details)
2) The estimated user base of Paypal, and the number of them that are Ebay users
3) The projected number of Ebay users using Paypal as payment method by the end of this financial year.
4) Any other information that may be deemed significant in my studies.

Ok, I know no one really posted anything but I managed to get a lot of the details I need off the 2002 Ebay Financial report on their investors site. Many thanks for anyone though that had a look in and indeed, if you can contribute anything still I'd be much appreciative. Perhaps your own opinions on the impact Paypal will have to the Ebay business platform.
Try the following site -- their opinions maybe a bit biased (!) but it makes interesting reading and it does provide a link to Ebay's Annual report.

Thanks Region, it has the 2003 report that was not present on the Ebay Site that I looked on and was needed. I'm only really looking at the business elements of Paypal, and so am keeping the community to a minimum even though I know that it plays a big part in how they make their money.

I'm not suite sure I understand the question :)
Ebay set up their own payment service to compete with Paypal, it didn't, so they bought Paypal out.
Paypal opening a European office based in Dublin, I think they have finally received FSA certification.
The big difference between acceptance of Paypal in the US and the UK is that in the US they are not allowed to charge the auction buyer any extra for paying with Paypal. In the UK a lot of sellers pass the Paypal fees on to the buyer, which stunts take up of Paypal in the UK.
Paypal will not verify the address of non-US sellers, which stunts growth also.
Anything there that interests you from my ramblings? :)
Cheers, Des.
