Maverick director Quentin Tarantino is planning an animated prequel to his Kill Bill movies - to show the early life of the deadly assassin. The film will be drawn in the Japanese manga style already seen in Kill Bill Volume 1 and will focus on the three men - pimp Estebian Vihaio and martial arts masters Hattori Hanzo and Pei Mai - who turned Bill into a ruthless killer. The Oscar-winning writer and director will write and produce the film. Tarantino has also speculated that he could return to Kill Bill's world in 15 years time to follow the daughter of a character killed in the first film

I jokingly suggested in another thread that this would turn into a trilogy. :oh-hum:

Pulp Fiction looking more and more like the last original idea QT has had.

Actually it isn't quite true - QT said that if he was to revisit KB then it would be in Anime form, either telling the whole story of Bill or the story of Vernita Green's daughter after her mother is killed. He didn't say he would do it, but if he were then that is how it would be.

He does however, really want to make 'Casino Royale' which he owns the rights to apparantly and he wants to do it as Brosnans last Bond movie, for $40 mil instead of $110 so at the very least your guranteed to make money back. But the Boccoli's (Or however it's spelt) have turned away many big name directors so they can keep control of the Franchise, which I think we can all agree is a shame.

I like all of QT's films but I think he'd make an awful mess of 007.

I was under the impression that the Broccoli's now had the Casino Royale rights?

Err what exactly is there to loose with 007 at the moment tho, Die another day was awful, might as well give Quint a chance..

Actually I think he'd do a great Bond. Played completely straight, and he can write good bad guys, which is what the Bond movies have been lacking.

Interesting fact, Spielberg approached them about making Bond but they turned him down, so he pushed on with Indy instead.

Did QT not comment in an interview around the time kill bill was released, that he was going to put the boxset of both movies out with an extra short film possibly included?

would make sense if what he was refering to was a manga prequel/spinoff.

Only 15 years to wait for Kill Bill 3 then :D

Some anime film seems very likely due to the short in Kill Bill pt 1.

Did he not want to make Men From U.N.C.L.E.? Now Bond? Does he really own the rights for 'Casino Royale'?

I suppose he could do a fairly good spy movie. It would be nice if Quint made a few more films though.

He always has about 10 films on the go at once. Will we ever see 'Inglorious ************'?

The screen rights to Casino Royale are now back in the hands of Eon Productions and whilst still not part of the official series have been retained in order to stop any further remakes which could damage future Bond productions.
