The Evil Dead on Proline

I have a Proline 1000 player, and I cant seem to get the R2 dvd of The Evil Dead to work, it just keeps saying its loading but never actualy loads. Is it just a faulty dvd, or is it a common problem?, and if so is there any way to play the disk?

That's a bit worrying
These probably won't work but try:

Turning the player on with the disc already inserted
or
Load the disc, press stop straight away , then press 'Menu' or 'Title'
