Anyone know if john Woo has began work on the new TMNT film?
It be cool to see a pic of how the new turtles will look

I remember seeing some concept artwork over at countingdown.com (http://www.countingdown.com) they looked pretty much like the cartoon series but in 3d. I believe they were only peliminary designs. But have a look at the link and search for TMNT.

Don't expect a Turtles film from Woo anything like the previous films and cartoon series. He's going back to the original, darker, comic book roots.

I hope so too, that picture looks veeery dodgy. I was under the impression it was going to be a lot darker in tone, if that picture is taken from the new movie then i think it's going to be a sinking ship.:(

Either Woo will bring the Turtles back to their original darker tone, or he's going he's going to see this as an opportunity to that musical that he always wanted to do.

A musical turtles !!!!!, please god no. I'm hoping that picture is just some preliminary spin-off material, maybe for TV or something. It looks nothing like the original comic/graphic novel the Eastman and Laird did prior to the Turtles becoming so huge. I remember reading one of my American friends copy and although it was the Turtles it had it's own charms, for a start the turtles all wore red bandana's (whatever?) and they all looked a hell of a lot meaner. As purpledump said they were much darker in tone, it wasn't always about pizza and 'COWABUNGA DUDE!!!'

I hope this is what Woo wants to bring to the big screen as i think that would have a modicum of credibility over those glorified CGI cartoons.

This new movie just sounds like the typical cheesy, in your face, fun for the kids, PG-13 rated type movie to me :rolleyes:

Man this thread is old. Ive recently been on a bit of a TMNT kick and after doing some searching i have found what appears to be a Workpirnt trailer of the CGI movie that has now been cancelled. Not sure if Woo had anything to do with mind. being a massive fan i think this would have been pretty damn good.

I've seen the old promo that screengrab is from, it's about two-three years old now, and I'm pretty sure it was mentioned on the official Ninja Turtles site that at least *that* version of any CGI project they might make was dropped..
And yes, Michaelangelo was actually about to say cowabunga there (05:15 in the vid) ;)

The toitles actually looked ok in motion, though a bit "cheap". I say it's better if they make a new liveaction one.. with Vanilla Ice :wave:
