Audrey Hepburn box set - 4 discs, not 5

The Hepburn box set due for release on 5/11/01 is 4 discs, not 5 as advertised on Play247 - I just spoke to Paramount who confirmed the films as

Breakfast At Tiffany's
Funny Face
Paris When It Sizzles
Sabrina

Play state that Roman Holiday is in there as well but the woman I spoke to said it wasn't.

I'm really looking forward to this one :)

Weird - exactly the same thing happened with the original VHS box-set. 5 titles were announced, even the booklet lists the 5 films, and then at the last minute Paris When It Sizzles is pulled. I do hope this means that they are giving Roman Holiday special treatment, best Aud film of the lot in my book.

Thanks for the info. I have been trying to confirm that Roman Holiday was missing from the set since it was first announced. All of the other films are available individually but there is no word on Roman Holiday and I hope this means a special edition - I now have to decide if I want to go ahead and buy the box set without RH in it???

I already have Breakfast at Tiffany's and don't like Paris when it sizzles - still it is Audrey Hepburn!!!

It's still quite possibly the bargain of the year at £28 for 4 films and good ones at that. I've also got Charade Criterion coming (what a job it was finding that), so it looks like it'll be Hepburn time soon enough. :)

No the bargain of the year was with Tesco, as they had this boxset already for £17.99 which I have on order. So its £10 cheaper than everywhere else. So lets hope that they don't find any reasons not to ship this order.

"How to steal a million" is also coming next year alongside "Love in the afternoon".I'm waiting for "Two for the road",whenever that appears...

The Audrey Hepburn used to contain 4 titles - I know because I bought it. With the release of Roman Holiday I think that the box set has been reissued with 5 titles, but it is obviously worth checking that your supplier isn't going to send you the older 4 title box.

By the way, Hepburn fans, steer well clear of the Sanctuary R2 version of Charade (unless it's dramatically improved since I last saw it). It is the second worst DVD transfer I have ever seen, and the only DVD I have ever returned to the retailer (the worst DVD transfer ever was The Eagle Has Landed but luckily I didn't buy that one). The DVD Beaver comparison ('http://207.136.67.23/film/dvdcompare/charade.htm') only picks up half the faults in the R2 - it has been poorly converted to DVD from an interlaced video master, and has interlacing artifacts as well as terrible motion artifacts. Most R1 releases (I think there are 4) are nearly as bad, but the Criterion is great and the one included with the R1 2-disker of The Truth about Charlie is fine if you push up the brightness a bit - I wonder if Universal deliberately made Charade look dark to make The Truth about Charlie look like a better film.

tesco have 2 box sets so it may only be the 4 disc. i cancelled mine :(

Does anybody know what type of packaging the new 5 DVD Box Set comes in?

I'm quite interested in buying it but I wondered if it will just be individual DVDs with the gold "Audrey Hepburn Collection" lettering (like the stand-alone releases and the last box set) with "Roman Holiday" thrown in or whether they will repackage the whole set?

Anybody who buys it, if you could report back, please! :)

The 4 disker had 4 individual amarays but with specially printed covers so all had matching white spines with matching lettering. The set was packaged in a very good quality white cardboard box with b/w images of Audrey Hepburn on 4 sides.

I have just received the single disk of Roman Holiday to complete my set but that does not match the ones in the 4 disk box set. If you buy the 5 disk set you may be more lucky.

Incidentally, if we can leave the packaging quality aside, I have been very pleased with the transfer quality of these DVDs. There is quite a lot of grain which is a good thing in my book.

I have the 4 DVD Set so I know what the packaging of the 4 DVD Set is like. It was the new 5 DVD Set I am interested in knowing about - but thanks anyway. :)
