Hi guys

Apologies in advance if this is the wrong place to post this, but I am more familiar with the Bargain Forum.

http://www.tiny.com/uk/

Have a DVD/Speaker system on their front page made by Turando. Its very cheap for DTS at £299, and as this is very much my first foray into Home Cinema I am looking for an entry level system.

So this is cheap and the speakers look quite cool, but no-one seems to have heard of Turando. Is it worth me getting this? Any opinions?
Is this all I need as well, as someone I work with suggested that I would need an amp as well to get this to work properly.
I have also seen another system from Richer for about £320 or so, though this is (only) DD and the speakers are pretty ugly.

Cheers for your help in advance

I got a complete DD/DTS system based around the Kenwood 5050 from Richer Sounds for about £360.00... This also means I can upgrade any speakers without having to replace the lot. I would personally always go for seperates over an all in one system but thats only my opinion.

Oh right?
Can you tell me the pieces you got and what they're like?
Was it the Eltax Starlight and DVD8080SE combination? Thats £399 on the site at the moment...

A m8 of mine has a SONY HTK - 315. This is last years product and I think the new one is HTK - 375. Was well impressed with the sound and has DTS. £360. Nice

The cheapest DTS speaker set up i can think of is;

Kenwood 5050 Receiver @ QED for £156.60 delivered
Eltax Stargate 5.1 Speaker System @ QED for £110 delivered

Total = £266.60 Not bad for full DD 5.1 and DTS compatability :)

Just make sure that any DVD player you get outputs both DD 5.1 and DTS through either the optical or coaxial output (some of the cheaper (less than £100) ones only output DD 5.1 for example).

The Sony HTK-315 or 375 are pretty poor for audio, unless some reasonably speakers are used as the front pair, otherwise mid-range is missing, I prefer the Yamaha solutions which is available at about £350.
