Whatever you do, do NOT use this company. They have one of the most useless customer services departments I have ever had the misfortune to come across.

The problem started with my order - I tried to get it delivered to my workplace which the website happily let me. Then I get a call saying that the address I gave for my delivery has to match my credit card address. Right. So I change the address to my home address, and ask to upgrade the delivery to an evening delivery, as I'm never at home to receive parcels. The call centre told me that they didn't DO evening deliveries in my area. I told them that theirs and Amtrak's website DID and they were wrong. They agreed and promptly told me they'd charge me the extra to upgrade.

So, the next day, I get a call at 1pm from Amtrak, telling me that they are trying to deliver to my house, but can't find it. Because the address they'd been given was wrong. It was also the case that it was 1pm and I wouldn't be there anyway! I asked if my delivery had been upgraded but it hadn't.

Back to MD - they said they had billed me the extra but hadn't changed the delivery! Unbelieveable! So I call them to contact Amtrak to get it delivered the next evening (at 5pm), they say they'll call back. 6pm rolls around, the call centre closes and they don't bother. I call back this morning - no-one has any idea what's going on! They are currently trying to get hold of Amtrak to confirm my delivery date (and failing miserably)...

If you want hassle and problems and a very, very unhelpful and idiotic Support Centre, then by all means use MD. I never will again, and have made sure everyone I know knows how bad they are!

Bah, thats a shame.
Ordered loads of stuff from them over the years and never had any problems, have heard a few horror stories though. Personally the dirt cheap prices outweigh the risk of them messing up.

Let us know what happens.

I also make most of my big purchases from them but I go down to the shop in person. Only had a problem with a faulty hard drive once which they replaced for me after 10 minutes of testing.

Thankfully, I live down the road so I can pick stuff up myself... This sounds pretty bad though :suspect:

I use to use these people all the time, never had any problems with them. The one time I did ring them up, they were pretty helpful. Mine was/is a business account though - but that shouldn't really make any difference.

I've never liked Micro Direct (though I've bought from them over the counter), the staff are too interesting in parking to block customers in outside to give a decent service. Anybody living locally should instead use Aria (www.Aria.co.uk) who are just three sets of lights (http://*******.com/2j4og) round the corner in Longsight - fast and friendly service at both the sales and returns counter.

I used MD once, and never again. They sent me a damaged DVD drive, and when I returned it, they sent it back to me saying I had to claim from the post office! Needless to say, Trading Standards got involved and I got my money back, but it was not an experience I'd like to repeat.

I also have a horror story with them.

Ordered about £400 worth of stuff, waited and waited nothing. Rang them up and they said securicor had tryed to deliver and i wasnt in and they had put a card through the door. No card and no one had tryed to deliver as i have security cameras on my property and replayed them. Took me ages and ages to get a refund nearly a month. And then they charged me £15 delivery.

Just put it down to bad experiance and never order again.

Ebuyer gets mine and my companys ££££'s all the time now. If i have ever had a problem with ebuyer they are always polite and curteous which goes a long way..

STEER CLEAR OF MD

you haven't had a problem with ebuyer
I've only made three orders with them and had problems with everyone. Items missing, damaged goods and late delivery every time! Plus they took a week to reply to my e-note and spent over 20mins on hold to CS only to be cut off!
maybe just my bad luck or you are lucky lol

Was prepared to buy a shuttle from microdirect earlier but checked on here 1st to see what reputation they have and needless to say I decided against buying anything from them.

Would rather buy stuff from ebuyer as at least Ive not had a problem yet with Ebuyer and bought loads of stuff.

Hi PG not so busy now since no ocs:oh-hum: Yeah ebuyer to seem to have very erratic customer service. Admittedly the last order i had was for a wifi card and they delivered later than the delivery i paid for. BUT they ended up giving me the card for free and credit for free delivery. So it seems they do like to make amends .....sometimes lol

At the end of the day, every online supplier will give you a problem sooner or later, Even the best, SVP for the sake of arguement, will still have the horror story. At the end of the day, i've never had any problem with them.

eBuyer have been good when I have needed returns, free shipping when it turns out a product wasnt in stock liek it said it was, just a simple refund on faulty RAM, etc.

Between them and Overclockers UK you can't go wrong.
