I've had my iPod now for 15 months and the headphone socket is now not working (either no sound or very distorted unless I twiddle with the connection).
Has anyone had this? Where can I get this fixed? Apart from scratches, there's nothing wrong so I don't want to buy a new one.
Thanks!
It'll be the little brushes / contacts gone in the 3.5mm headphone reciprical. You can easily get a replacement from an electronics shop and solder it on in place of the old one. Either than and see if you can bend them back in place.

How can you open up iPods?
Where would be a good place to look for a replacement (Maplins?)
I can't reach far enough inside to bend them back into shape.
Cheers!
Not a clue how to apply that to an Ipod, its something i did on a vivanco MP3 player i had a year or so back.
Maplins are normally a good place to start
CPC is you don't get any luck
heres how you open it, do so at your own risk tho ;)

i read about someone on www.ipodlounge.com about the headphone connection problem. have a look over there, i think he was on about a big mod to his ipod after it all tho, he went a bit ott it would seem. i think its under ipod > general

Thank you! I went to an electrician and he sorted it with some solder and no small amount of fiddling  (the headphone socket had pulled away from the board). :cuckoo:
If anyone in London has the same problem, I can put you in touch with the guy.
