On a few etailers (I think dvdexpress was one) they used to list pretty much any film ever made and you could sign up to be emailed when any news about a forthcoming release was announced.

Anyone got any ideas if there are any other sites that offer this?

I looked on amazon and few of the other larger sites but to no avail. I'm fed up with keep checking every week or so for info on the same 5 films - It doesn't help that I keep forgetting which films they are as well, so something like this would be useful.

Pretty sure Amazon does offer this service. I remember using it ages ago for something. They said they'd pass on every vote for a specific movie to the distributor until it got released. Sorry but I can't remember which movie it was. But they did email me once it was released.

Amazon does it at Amazon.com, Amazon.ca and Amazon.co.uk, but only on titles they have set it up for. I don't know how you ask them to set up a new title that they don't already have, such as One of Our Dinosaurs is Missing (surely a Peter Ustinov commemorative edition could be rushed out).

Some DVDs that I have registered interest in on the various Amazon sites:

US+UK - Raise the Red Lantern - MGM
US - La Double Vie de Veronique - Miramax/Canal+
US - Short Cuts (Altman)
US - King of the Hill (1993)
Canada - Tous les Matins du Monde
US - Kafka (Soderbergh)
Canada - High Heels - Miramax
US - Sergeant York
US - My Own Private Idaho - New Line

I think Blackstar do this in a similar vein to Amazon. have signed for a few things. They normally only list films released in a cinema rather than films they anticipate to be released on DVD. The later is normally only put on the site when it is available for pre-order.

But you can have actors or directors on a watchlist on the blackstar site, which is really great. For example I'm going to buy every Richard Burton film released on dvd, so I just check this website once in a while.
