Time to upgrade the DVD player(Scan sc2000).
At the moment I also have an Arcam Alpha 6 cd player(£600 retail in their day) for music but if possible would like to use the new DVD for that side as well.
So for around £400 or less what DVD has top audio.
Usual requirements
multi region
CD-R

Any ideas??

P.S Any idea what I could sell the Arcam for.

Give a listen to the Toshiba SD9000 - you can pick them up multi-region for £299 now and they're really good players.

Personally I think it outperforms the nakamichi and rotel players and at the price - wow! (was £800 once upon a time).

The picture quality is stellar too - a fabulous player. You'll have to spend well over £500 to get better...

Might be worth looking into a Sony 725 if you can find one. Home Cinema Choice's website gives the players audio capabilities a very good review. Search for Sony on the following link:

Mine doesn't play CD-R's though. Newer releases of the player might have the capability though if i remember correctly. :)
