Hi, what's the cheapest place to get a Canon 300d with the EFS lense package.

The cheapest I've seen is: £792.99 from buyacamera.co.uk.

Anyone know of anywhere cheaper?

I don't know if you're still looking but I ordered one today from 7dayshop (via an affilate link before any mods start twitching) for £750 delivered.

:suspect:

And here is the direct affiliate link for this camera

Canon EOS Rebal (http://www.awin1.com/awclick.php?mid=530&gid=6083&id=30372&p=http://www.7dayshop.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=777_4_409&products_id=91362)

Its a shocking price you have to pay in the UK as it can be had for $799 here after discounts (but not able to ship to UK :( ). But still the 7DayShop (http://www.awin1.com/awclick.php?mid=530&gid=6083&id=30372) price is excellent for the UK :)

Kryten, I affiliated "7DayShop (http://www.awin1.com/awclick.php?mid=530&gid=6083&id=30372)" in your post - you're getting sloppy :nono:

I noticed Jessops (http://tracker.tradedoubler.com/click?p=17211&a=60823&g=106115) today have it in store for 799.99. Amazon (http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B0000C9VZN/qid=1083022261/thedvdforums-21) have it for 779.99, and when I brought a minolta z1 last year, jessops price matched a much bigger difference than that with amazon.

I have one of these cameras, brought in the states, and can't recommend them enough. By the way, it's even cheaper to import from America.

Check out the reviews on www.steves-digicams.com and they give you the best prices in the states at the bottom of the review page.
It may also be worth checking out ebay, although be careful of the vat and import taxes, although some include this.

Worth pointing out you could be hit by VAT & customs ordering from 7dayshop, pushing it way above the price you'd pay in Jessops.

The camera was delivered today with no interference from HM Customs.
However, as had been suggested elsewhere, they supplied an imported Digital Rebel rather than the 300D that was advertised and they sent body only rather than the Body and lens that was ordered.

Overall, if I could go back in time I wouldn't place the order with them again in light of the erroneous (and fraudulent?) product description and the poor order dispatching procedures.

It's £757 delivered at cameras2u.com at the following link

Cameras2u.com (http://www.cameras2u.com/products/details.cfm?product=8862A011AA)

mods pls affiliated if appropriate! Cameras2u are a UK business, supply full UK goods, have free delivery and superb customer services, I ordered a Canon IXUS 430 off them recently and was thoroughyl impressed with every aspect of the order :)

Read some of the reviews for them here (http://uk.pricerunner.com/retailer/5895/reviews) if you want other opinions ;)

Price has dropped by £70 at 7dayshop (http://www.awin1.com/awclick.php?mid=530&gid=6083&id=30372) so it's now down to £679.

edit by Trekker to add affiliate link to 7dayshop (http://www.awin1.com/awclick.php?mid=530&gid=6083&id=30372)

I ended up just getting a digital rebel from a guy off ebay. It came with the lense kit, brand new and worked out after delivery, vat and handling charge at £595.

Yep the ebay guy is called popflash.photo

I notice that he has one at the moment for the same price ($927)
I e-mailed him and asked for a price for delivery - which was $50 quite a bit cheaper than most.

Ask him about customs. I ended up paying VAT on $97 which was about £13. He sent it by ems (www.usps.com) which had online tracking and came into the uk via parcel force. They then charges £13 ish as an admin charge.

Total worked out at £595 with lens. He also does one cheaper without the lens.

Was in Jessops today trying to get them to price match a camcorder. The manager said they do not price match amazon any more as they now ship electronic goods from outside the UK just like pixmania.
