Anyone who visits NTSC-UK or rllmuk will already know about this, but I'll big it up here anyway....

Consolevania is a games show, made by the people that really care, gamers. A couple of chaps have got together, and turned out a rough around the edges, but ultimately very good show. It's quite an achivement, and hopefully with a bit of interweb buzz around it, this could just be the start. It's a big old download, but well worth it, and is avaliable from the site above by a couple of different methods, so go on, what are you waiting for!
They had this on Gamecentral today. I wish I'd though of it myself :cry:
Sounds great, but on a 56k modem those files are just too big. :(

They need to sort out their audio balancing though as it goes from very quiet to very loud forcing you to mess with the volume controls all the time. Minor gripe though. That and I can't understand some of the words cos of the blokes accent :D

Oh yeah, I forgot to say that I managed to download them both and I did enjoy them as well- some very funny moments! :D
I'd imagine Ep3 will be out around the 20th May, similar to the previous episodes.
Fantastic stuff - someone should seriously commission these guys!
The interview with the Japanese guy where they put the subs of what the guy in the games shop said earlier had me in stiches.
And Hitler on games! :lol:
In fact the whole thing was just cool!

I've got a couple of hours left on Ep. 3. I'll leave it seeding for a couple of days in an attempt to help speeds, although saying that I'm getting a steady 50K, which is all my connection can handle!

Episode 1 theres 6 seeders and only 1 leecher - so you should be getting very good speeds on that.
Epsiode 2 theres 3(including me) seeders and 7 leechers so speeds will be a bit slower - but with my extra upload you should be getting ok dload speed.

I think all 3 episodes so far have been about 45-50 minutes a piece.
Enjoyed episode one but episode 2 was not as funny IMO

The thread in the ntsc-uk forums gives a link to a torrent that doesn't work. I've searched all the bittorrent websites I know of and can't find it anywhere except that ntsc-uk forum post. If you know of a torrent that works (from all the "usual sources"), I think you'd be allowed to give it here, right? Since Consolevania is a show made to be distributed with bittorrent for free?
That torrent does work, you have to leave it alone for a little while though and it's mega slow.
74 kbp/s for me at the moment.

But, the "bummed in the gob" thing had me rolling up and was by the funniest thing I've seen in a while.
The XBox live champ 2003 constantly repeating 'whats your best time in time attack mode' really quickly in ep 2 (I think), and also taking every opportunity to announce that he beat Lisa Simpon, 45, to gain the title. Ace! :lol:

The review of WE8, Gradius V, Riddick and Michigan were all excellent.
The Peter Molyneux impression was uncanny :lol:

Fat Scottsman + Increased ego + Videocamera
Dissapeared up his own arse.

Nah it's not harsh mate, seriously if you think a Fat Scot getting slapped about by a long haired lanky scot is amusing, and people getting hit in the face with microphones then check this out. His reviews aren't too bad, but then it's a shame he pads around them with rubbish that has been done to death in the first few eps.
And all the excitement over "a woman" - prolly the first time these guys have been near one tbh.
Ep 5: The musical Oh dear.....
Consolevania is great, still funny, bring back Hitler! (as long as he is walking into another Game to see their reaction).
I thought that he strangely looked similar to Molenyeux (i sux at teh speeling)

I think ep 4 was the funniest of the lot.. the Mortal Kombat skit went on too long though, but the reviews were better this time around.

I dunno. The reviews, which are the bulk of the show were excellent, the legend stuff was quality, the molyneux stuff was amusing, the tap, tap tap didn't well overstay its welcome this time. There were a couple of misfires, but thats the same for all of their episodes. And the woman thing seemed to me to be deliberately living down to a stereotype!

Isn't BigLime off sunning himself due to charging extortionate sponsor fees for his self-obsessed show :p
Number 4 was better but that ain't saying much as the ones before it was b-a-d.

Well I just meant that they'd probably suffer from the limitations all commercial video game media outlets suffer from - Better games getting dropped for mediocre ones with massive marketing budgets and honest opinions being replaced some what with a glorified advertisement for said product. Still, if they did get offered a slot of the Beeb they'd obviously be mad to turn it down.
But it's on BBC3. And you evidentely know sod all about TV.
Bump! Friday night / Saturday morning, from 00:05 to 00:15, on BBC2 Scotland: VideoGaiden. It's a 10-minute Consolevania, basically (I believe the guys wanted to retain rights to the name, so they changed it for TV).
Is this crap still going? Has BigLime appeared from out his own arse yet to say hello to the world?

Are you his lovechild? I'm well jealous of a guy whose IMO excellent game show degenerated in an excuse for him to take his clothes off and run around in front of a camera with duct tape covering his testes. For me, that's not entertainment.
On a personal level, he was a frankly a ******* when I contacted him many months ago when the show was in his infancy regarding some promotional deals.
Promotional deals? Sounds dodgy enough to me. :p
So what if that's not entertainment to you? What about all the other sketches?
Now I'm his lovechild for sticking up for the show, since it's damn good? Rigghhtt.
The promo stuff was re: a website I was involved with at the time. Doesn't really matter now though as my views on person don't dictate my views on the show. I've said before, his reviews aren't bad at all but the padding turned into a tedious fare.
You're justification for the show was that "loads of people love it". Must be awesome then. If you like it that's fine, it really is. In my opinion, if he cut it down to just the reviews and maybe the odd limited sketch it'd be great. But slapping each other about with a coat hanger microphone etc was poor. That child molester gag was sick as well. Funny at first (I'm shamed to say) but I think he pushed it too far, as was the case (in my opinion) with most of his skits.

Don't download it then? And perhaps accept that it isn't actually a games review show, but a comedy show about videogaming that happens to include a few reviews. People who like the show like it because they know what they are watching, rather than what they wish it was instead.

I can imagine your correspondence sounded like spam. If you tried to cash in on the show and were shot down, I can imagine you'd be bitter towards it.

I thought it was good overall but the 10 minutes worked against it with only 2 reviews told at blistering speed due to time constraints. Didn't get all the jokes either tbh. The Legend press conference at the end was great though, dunno what people without net access who hadn't seen the show would make too it mind. ;)
Yeah it was ok, but too short and I prefered the old way of reviewing.

Yeah quite enjoyed this actually. Not sure about the John Gacy stuff, tredding on thin ice with that one I reckon :p I liked their FarCry review: "I'm not bothered by this game to be honest, I'm just not bothered." Spot on imo.

Yep agree with the John Gacy sketch, usually quite like dark stuff like Jam, Brass Eye etc but it doesn't half leave a nasty taste in the mouth after it's finished. Liked the Oblivion review as well "I like to visit towns, take off my shoes and throw them on roofs, every single town in my game has shoes on their roofs" :lol:
